Frequently asked questions
Does supported living result in a loss of independence?
No. If anything it helps the individual to gain independence and the necessary skills needed to go on and live their lives within their local communities. Our belief is that independence is being in control of your decisions and having a say in your care plan where this is possible. A supported living service means being partly in control of your activities and retaining as much independence as each situation allows. Many of our young people just need a little help and guidance in living a safe and productive life through positive role models, whilst others find it more of a challenge due to vulnerable conditions or past traumas. Regardless of the situation, our goal is to enable the best possible outcomes while our young people still feel a part of their daily care and planning decisions.
Do you have experienced staff?
With many years of experience in the field, our highly trained staff team have chosen a career in compassionate care for those in need. The Care Advantage Supported Living implements a proprietary in-depth Screening System which includes a comprehensive background check and screening for compassion, identity, integrity, and competence.
What makes you different?
Our Golden Rule states ‘We will not employ a staff member that we would not feel comfortable working into our own homes.’ This high bar was set by our founder and is the backbone of our mission. Similar to any working professional, our support workers and staff team must have a combination of trust, compassion, stability, and hope. We encourage you to meet our Care Manager or local Director as they will treat you with as much compassion and dignity whilst gaining an understanding of your care needs.
